New Catalog!!!
We have received a serious upgrade here in the OCOM Library; a brand new catalog!! We are sharing a catalog with OHSU, NCNM and UWS - you can search by institution (narrow down your results to just items here in the OCOM Library) or search all four schools. You will even have the option of having books shipped to OCOM for easy pickup. All new OCOM ID cards (for new students) will be ready to go, but if you already have an OCOM Library account, you will need to stop by and get a unique barcode added to your ID card for you to be able to check out books and place books on hold using the new system. Stop by or call the library for more information.

Library Party!!
As you all no doubt have heard, our wonderful librarian, Lana, will be leaving OCOM in a weeks time. In order to send her off in style, we will be having a going-away party on Thursday, August 19th IN THE LIBRARY! If you’ve never partied in a library, here is your chance to eat some awesome vegan snacks and observe librarians in their natural habitat. Festivities kick off at 12pm.

If you need to study during this time period, a library staff person will be available to check out materials to you for use in the quiet study room (located across the hall from the library). Hope you can all come and say goodbye to OCOM's treasure!

Tao of Tarot

If Christina Bjergo's presentation on campus last week piqued your interest, the OCOM Library now carries her book, The Tao of Tarot.

Kam Wah Chung

OPB is now showing a documentary about Doc Hay and Lung On, who ran the Kam Wah Chung store and medical practice in Eastern Oregon in early to mid 1900s. You can see the documentary on opb.org at: http://www.opb.org/programs/oregonexperience/programs/player/20-Kam-Wah-Chung. There will be a trip to Kam Wah Chung during Summer Break, so keep an ear out for more details in the near future.

The following is a short clip from NPR's Crossing East Asian American history series.
